The hillside where Follonico gently rests has been transformed over time into an enchanting natural environment for guests to enjoy. Abundant borders of lavenders and aromatic plants give the garden a touch of romance, whilst climbing roses, jasmines and honeysuckles clamber along ancient stone walls and fill the air with the heady scents of Tuscany. Terracotta pots are planted with Michaelmas daisies, sedums and lilies. Natural borders of rosemary and sage sweep across the land, gently dividing the surrounding gardens into al-fresco rooms.
Enjoy the many secluded corners of the gardens where you can relax with a good book or watch the sunset over the hills and valleys of Montepulciano. Savour a glass of Brunello under the shade of a Wisteria laden pergola or simply spend a lazy dayunder the gentle warmth of the Tuscan sun.
At the heart of Follonico is its family of animals who greet guests with enthusiasm. Geese pace elegantly around the pond, whist sheep, hens and dogs wander around the sloping lawn. Resident casts doze in the dappled shade and the donkey and horses graze in the paddock near the vegetable garden.
