Each morning, delicious, seasonal ingredients are lovingly harvested from Follonico's land. Fresh vegies are gathered from the kitchen garden, organic eggs collected from the free-range hens and ducks (...well, sometimes they strike and we need to find alternatives) and home-baked sourdough bread is served warm, straight from the farmhouse kitchen.
Breakfasts at Follonico are heart-warming, seasonal feasts, where fresh 0km ingredients take centre stage. Pastries and breads are made by hand and Fabio's famous Sourdough bread embraces the ancient tradition of using a 'Mother' yeast. The result is both mouth-watering and healthy. Local cheeses and free-range meats are all sourced from artisan farmers in the Val d'Orcia region. Natural honeys come from Follonico's own bees , as well as the Cold pressed extra vergin olive oil comes from Follonico's olives and is simply delicious served with warm bread, a farm-fresh fresh egg and a little salt. We are proud to offer an organic breakfast with our produce and some little help of our neighbours, serving every day a 3 course breakfast with sweet, salty and warm meals. Every day our breakfast menu changes according to what we harvest or what the season offers locally.
We are proudly and officialy registered as agriturismo which, beyond our believes, authorize us to use only Tuscan ingredients for our meals.
So do not expect orange or pineapple juices, banana fruit, smoked salmon, avocados and other things like this. If you do, probably you have booked the wrong place.
