Perfect

My wife, 7-month old son and I recently spent 4 nights at Follonico during our two-week holiday in Italia. Let me begin by simply saying: "Wow!"
Everything was pretty close to perfect during our stay. I'd have to say it was everything we imagined... and more! Fabio and Suzanne were incredible hosts and did everything to make our visit memorable. Their home is stunning, and is the perfect combination of rustic charm with the most modern amenities. After a week of "running around" visiting friends and some different cities, we were thrilled to be able to slow down and have 5 relaxing days in the Toscana countryside.
Our trip was during the first week of December, and for us we found the timing to be ideal. The many hill-towns we visited were uncrowded with barely a tourist in site. Often while shopping we would be the only customers in a store, and this allowed us to interact with shopkeepers, vendors, and restaurant owners. (One particular highlight, I HAVE to mention, was our dinner at 13 Gobbi in Montefollonico. Grazie, Signor Albo!!)
The room where we stayed was clean, spacious, and yet incredibly cozy. Suzanne made a great breakfast for us each day, and from there we drove all around the countryside visiting the different towns and farms. We took one day out to drive up to Sienna, but for the most part were quite happy just staying "local."
I heartily recommend Follonico as a great place to stay, and thank Fabio and Suzanne for a wonderful experience.

Rustic charm, beautiful surroundings and great hosts at a reasonable price

We stayed at the Blu Notte room for 5 days and it was beautiful. The room was clean and had a very nice rustic charm... Just like the pictures on the website. The property is a little off the beaten path, but that means it's not noisy, crowded and 'touristy'. It's set in the midst of the beautiful Tuscan countryside, which means you wake up to green rolling hills, fresh air and vineyards.
Fabio and Suzzane were fantastic hosts! We had problems renting a car from Florence (we had left our driver's license at home) and had to take a train. Fabio picked us up from the station and even cooked a simple dinner for us. Suzzane took extra care to make sure we settled in well and even offered to give us a lift to Montepulciano the next day. They really made us feel better after our 'eventful day'. Fabio helped us with car rental at a local shop, drove us to pick it up and made sure the rental company gave us a ride to the train station when we returned the car.They were always warm and smiling and ever helpful with questions about the region. It's a good idea to get their recommendations for restaurants and vineyards... They typically are very good. Great place, fantastic hosts and reasonable rates... Follonico is truly a Tuscan gem!

Simple Luxury

It is easy to wax on about all that is good about Follonico. The location and setting are exquisite. In a valley between the hill towns of Montepulciano and Montefollonico, this family-run B&B is surrounded by vineyards with easy access to many of Tuscany’s most well-known hill towns including Pienza, Sienna and Cortona. Our suite, the “Rosso Tramonto” had windows opening out to the full sweep from vineyards to hilltowns. The restoration of this Tuscan farmhouse (before and after pictures on the website) is exceptionally well done, both in design and functionality. The showers, the bathroom, stone tile floors, lighting… could have been in a four star resort. Breakfasts are in a wonderful arched room opening out to the same continental view, with local meats and cheeses and homebaked muffins or pastries. What really makes Follonico so wonderful are its creative owner-hosts Fabio and Suzanne. Their labor of love creating Follonico translates into attentive care and guidance for their guests. Perfect for couples and honeymooners (as we were). We would return in a snap, especially for the classes in seasonal Tuscan cuisine being planned for guests in the future.

An amazing retreat

This B & B is just amazing. From the frogs croaking at night to the outstanding hosts you cannot go wrong in Tuscany staying at the Follonico. Right in the middle of Wine Country if Wine tasting is preferred(we preferred!) and down home simple breakfast too.I do suggest you try and arrive in the daylight hours as we got a little lost, but the wonderful hosts came and rescued us a mile or so away.....we just wish we could have stayed a bit longer, next time for sure.

Perfect in everyway

What an amazing time my husband and I had at Follonico. The owners are superb and their recommendations were top notch... tey the Icario vineyard! The accomodations are beyond words and that was the BEST mattress... we slept like children. I was initially concerned with the isolation but once you are there, it really is perfection. Cannot wait to visit again.

Traumhaft

Follonoico ist ein wunderschön gelegenes altes Haus, das durch die beiden Besitzer zu einem der schönsten und individuellsten Hotels geworden ist. Die Zimmer sind wunderschön und mit viel Liebe und Perfektionismus ausgestattet ( großes Lob für die geschmackvolle Zimmerausstattung! ). Sofort beim eintreten stellt sich der Urlaub ein und man fühlt sich super wohl. was nicht zuletzt an der unglaublichen Gastfreundschaft der beiden lag. Und das rund um die Uhr. Die Umgebung ist traumhaft schön, romantisch und sehr reizvoll. Besonders am Morgen wenn Frösche quaken und Vögel singen. Unbedingt hinfahren!!!!!!

Preciosa Casa y paisaje con Dueños encantadores

Super recomedable para conocer el sur de la Toscana, Una casa centenaría perfectamente restaurada y con un diseño maravilloso
Los dueños son encantadores y a un precio muy bueno para la calidad de las habitaciones, especialmente en comparación con otros hoteles de la zona
Habitaciones muy amplias (la blue note debe medir al menos 60m), decoradas con un gusto exito aun precio muy razonable
Solo dan desayuno, pero recomiendan muy bien sobre los pueblos y restaurantes de la zona
Si podeis, disfrutadla. Super RELAX!!!!
